Rome Ciampino Airport is one of the oldest airports in Europe still in operation, and until the construction of the larger, busier and more distant Leonardo da Vinci Airport at Fiumicino, Ciampino was the main international gateway to Rome. The airport is located 12 km from the centre of Rome, mainly hosting low-cost airlines such as easyJet, Wizz Air, and Ryanair.
