However, after the discovery of a powerful artifact known as the Dragon's Soulgem—a gem with a Dragon's soul sealed within—a power struggle erupted between Tormentus's forces, the Werewolves, and the Vampires, all vying to become the next Alpha monster. But the Guilds and other factions also desired the artifact for their own gain. The past decade has been restless, especially with recent signs indicating the resurgence of the Dragon Reign.
