Keith Olbermann fired by Current TV | Strange Bedfellows — Politics News – seattlepi.com.

I’m sure this will come as a shock to the tens of viewers of Olbermann’s show on Current TV.

At a time when new car sales are as high as they have been in some time, Chevy dealers are resisting GM’s determination to foist the electric vehicle on a car buying public that clearly doesn’t want it. I wonder if all of the Volts have been sold to quasi-government organizations? The only Volt I have seen in person apparently belongs to TVA, as it sits in the Summer Place parking garage most days, connected to its charging station.

Iran, the U.S. and the Strait of Hormuz Crisis | STRATFOR.

As U.S. and European nations step up sanctions against Iran, the Iranian regime once again threatens to close the Strait of Hormuz, the waterway that is vital to oil shipping from the Middle East. Despite the fact that the aircraft carrier U.S.S Abraham Lincoln entered the Strait without incident, the area is still a strategic choke point that has the potential to be shut down, which would disrupt world oil supplies and lead to skyrocketing oil prices.

Sounds Like Keith Olbermann Is Already On The Outs With Al Gores Current TV.

It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. I never understood how Keith Olbermann went from being just another face on ESPN to such a large media presence in the first place. He has a snarky style which I assume is supposed to make him come across as “ironic” or “edgy”. It has always been annoying to me. And, why his political opinions should matter to anyone but himself has also been a mystery to me. It is apparently a mystery to most TV viewers as well, for the article states that “his large MSNBC audience has not followed him to Current TV”.

I think this requires some perspective. First of all, Current TV is not available in as many homes as MSNBC. But also, was his audience truly “large” to begin with? His MSNBC shows were never a threat to Fox News, and barely edged out whatever CNN program they opposed.

To sum things up, I and apparently most of the cable news and opinion viewing world, will not miss Keith Olbermann if his gig at Current TV ends just like his stint at MSNBC did.

Let’s Face It: Jesus Railed Against The ‘Archbishops’ Of His Day : The Other McCain.

I agree. When Jesus disputed with authorities, it was the church of his day that he took exception to. He called the temple “a den of thieves”.

The Texan Who Would Be King | 1LT WM Treadway’s Blog straight from the sandy beaches of Afghanistan.

I came across this blog written by a 1st Lieutenant serving in Afghanistan. I found it quite interesting, as he is live on the scene, as it were.

Obama Signs A Secret Order To Allow Covert Operations Within Libya.

USS Ronald Reagan

Where are the antiwar protesters? Where are the network TV news reports, blasting this warmonger President? And the biggest question of all, why on earth are we involved in a civil war in Libya? Recent reports have stated that there may be as few as 1,000 rebels in the country. The administration appears to issue a completely different statement each day. Yesterday, we were told that there would be no more airstrikes by U.S. warplanes. Then today, we find that there will be more bombing by American pilots.

At this point, I just wish the Administration would call this action exactly what it is- a combat mission designed to bring about regime change in Libya. But that would require them to admit that George W. Bush was right about something, and I just don’t think they are capable of doing so.

I personally have no problem with Khadaffi being removed from power. Ultimately, he should be brought to trial on charges of aiding terrorists. But it seems to me that the approach that the U.S., the UN, and NATO are taking is too cautious to unseat a dictator who has ruled for over 40 years. I sincerely hope to be proved wrong.
